Good News for Mumbai Railway commuters, pay the difference and travel in AC local

Mumbai, January 21: It has been only a month that the AC locals have started to begin its operations that the New Year gift has one more surprise in store for its commuters. The Railway authorities have decided to allow commuters of First Class to travel through AC local who have monthly passes and daily tickets. This facility is available to the commuters till 26th January.


 

The AC local commenced last month on December 25 by the Indian Railways in Western line. The officials have decided to allow the train commuters in Mumbai with first-class tickets and monthly passes who can now travel in the air-conditioned train by paying the fare difference. The pass holders have to pay the entire months difference, irrespective of the days left for its expiry. But the validity of the AC monthly pass will be the same as that of the first class monthly pass. The facility is not applicable for commuters using quarterly and semi-annual passes.

 

The amount can be paid at the booking counter once the Central Railway makes changes in their software but until then this process will be done manually. The commuters who travel in a single journey will have to pay the amount to the TTEs in the AC local.

This availability of travelling is feasible and the passengers can have a quick journey in a relaxed and comfortable AC local train. New avenues and new facilities have enabled the masses to get a taste the success and evolution.
