Ice Skating under moon light, how romantic!

Shimla, January 22: This year was a winter bonanza for the people of Himachal Pradesh as they got an opportunity to experience their age old tradition of ice skating.

 

Ice skating is considered as a tradition among the people of Shimla. Participants had a pleasant time skating under moon and torch lights over a sheet of snow in Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla on Sunday night. Audiences were enthralled upon watching the spectacular performances under scintillating lights. Torch lights were held by the participants during this ice skating tournament making it more exciting and mesmerising sight to watch.

 

The event, organised after five years, took place at the famous tourist attraction, Ice Skating Rink. The sports event couldn’t be organised over last several years due to unfavourable weather conditions. Generally, members of the Shimla Ice Skating Rink used to organise annually the New Year carnival on New Year’ eve. Both participants and organisers were fascinated to observe the age-old tradition after a break.
