Global community informed about transformation of Maharashtra
Mumbai, Jan 24: Maharashtra topped at the World Economic Forum summit in an India –Centric atmosphere in this annual summit. Prime Minister Narendra Modi placed before the forum the success story of India’s development forcefully and State Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis also informed the participants about the transformation process of the state through various media elucidating encouraging response.
The State delegation today gave information about state’s development journey through various initiatives. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadela met the Chief Minister. With the cooperation from Microsoft Harisal village in Melghat is on way to become the first digital village. The Chief Minister thanked Microsoft CEO for the cooperation for converting other villages into digital villages. Nadela praised the Chief Minister for his initiative in Public Cloud Computing Data Cebntre’s expansion policy.
A meeting was organized in Davos by Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) on Industrial Corridors in India-Demand led planning and financing. This meeting was attended by CEO of NITI Ayog Amitabh Kant, Chief Minister Fadanvis and other dignitaries. Design of Nagpur-Mumbai Samruddhi Mahamarg was presented on this occasion. This corridor joining 24 districts would be important for development of the entire state and specially that of farmers. By developing agriculture centers agriculture products would be stored in the cold storages to facilitate their transport, supply and processing, the Chief Minister said.
This biggest and planned corridor in India would be completed in three years. The work would start in March 2018 the Chief Minister said exuding confidence that 85 percent of the land will be available for this project to the government through direct purchasing. Welcoming the project Amitabh Kant praised the state government for resolving issues related to land acquisition by mutual understanding, satisfaction of the land owners, best compensation, best participation in the project and avoiding legal problems.
The Chief Minister also informed the meeting about the projects being implemented to ease out traffic congestion in Mumbai. Mumbai would be first metropolis in the India to have integrated transport system by 2022. Metro railway of 258 km, elevated corridor, coastal road, sea link, Mumbai Trans Harbour link, new airport and water transport projects are all on progress, he added.
The Chief Minister interacted with the media at Davos. He said the atmosphere here which was earlier China centric has now converted into India Centric. This is the major change visible due to development India achieved in the past three years. Entrepreneurs are interested in investing in Maharashtra and they prefer clean and approved projects. We are giving the Maharashtra Model of development to the country, he said adding that the objective was to concentrate on a development model based on basic infrastructure facilities. Maharashtra fetched more than half of the total investment in India because of the best coordination between the Centre and the state, the Chief Minister said adding that due to this coordination projects like New Mumbai Airport, Trans-harbour link etc. are progressing well.
Praises PM’s address: The address of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the World Economic Forum was more like a statesman of a global stature than of a politician, the Chief Minister said. He said that the Prime Minister placed three important issues in his address namely, environmental change, terrorism and opposition to anti-globalisation streams. He placed the views of India firmly on these sensitive issues. Supporting the multi-polar global system, he placed before the world forum the success story of India’s development and transformation. His referring to highest philosophical messages of India philosophy and their relevance in the modern world was very impressive. His presentation of Wealth with Wellness, Health with Wholeness and Prosperity with Peace was enough to introduce India to the world, the Chief Minister said.
