BAE Systems to invest for defence production in state- CM

Mumbai, Jan 24: BAE Systems, a British company is interested in production of defence equipment in the state and a trainer hawk necessary for this will be set up. Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis gave this information following the positive discussions with Chairman of BAE Systems Roger Carr at Davos.

A high level delegation of Maharashtra under the leadership of Chief Minister Fadanvis is holding discussions with various global leaders and entrepreneurs at World Economic Forum’s 48th conference at Davos in Switzerland. Chairman of BAE Systems Roger Carr met the Chief Minister at Maharashtra Pavilion on the second day of the meet.

BAE Systems is a leading multinational company in the field of defence, security and aerospace. This company has shown willingness to invest in Maharashtra to speed up defence production. The state government has offered all the facilities to them for this. The company has accepted the invitation to participate in the Magnetic Maharashtra summit slated for next month in Mumbai and expressed their willingness to work with the Indian companies in defence production area.

Senior Director of World Bank Food & Agriculture Global Practice Juergen Voegele, met the Chief Minister at Davos. They discussed the climate complimentary farming project named as ‘Nanaji Deshmukh Krishi Sanjeevani Yojana’. World Bank is likely to take final decision regarding this scheme as most conditions have been fulfilled at the Centre, the Chief Minister said.

Meanwhile Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal visited Maharashtra pavilion and discussed investment opportunities. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also met Chief Minister.
