India Cambodia tie knots to strengthen culture and combat human trafficking mutually

New Delhi, January 29: While India Cambodia tied knots to mutually cooperate and strengthen their ties in future; several MoUs were inked in the field of culture, finance, security etc. Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the press statement expressed a hope saying that “India is ready to further strengthen its relations with Cambodia in the coming future.” 

MoU was inked for ‘Cultural Exchange Programme’ (CEP) with Cambodia for the year 2018-2022. The CEP seeks to promote cultural exchange and strengthen the friendly relations between India and Cambodia.
MoU was inked between the EXIM Bank, Government of India and the Government of Cambodia for a Line of Credit to finance the Stung Sva Hab Water Resource Development Project for US$ 36.92 million.
Also, India Cambodia signed a MoU for seeking mutual legal assistance in criminal matters. It seeks to improve the effectiveness of both countries in the prevention, investigation and prosecution of crimes through cooperation and legal assistance in criminal matters.
MoU was inked on Cooperation for Prevention of Human Trafficking which seeks to increase the bilateral cooperation on the issues of prevention, rescue and repatriation related to human trafficking.
Meanwhile addressing the joint press conference, PM Modi said, “Angkor Wat temple’s preservation is the part of the joint cultural heritage of Cambodia and India.” To this Cambodian PM said, “Hope Indian investors will go to Cambodia; Indian tourists & investors should come to Cambodia.” Hun Sen also said, “I appreciate PM Narendra Modi for ASEAN India commemorative summit & Republic Day.” The Cambodian PM also said that Cambodia can benefit from act east policy.
