Andhra Pradesh government seeks permission for new high court building

Amaravati, January 3: In order to end the ongoing deadlock over the construction of new High court building, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandra Babu Naidu has requested Hyderabad High Court's acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan to take the final call on proposed building of state's High Court.

In an official communication, Chandra Babu mentioned that the new establishment will start functioning from June 2018. The Chief Minister also urged officials to convey their suggestions and objections by the end of January, in order to implement those modifications by April.

According to media reports, the five committee member will look after all the developments associated with the construction of new High Court building. Earlier, members of Telangana Rashtra Samithi expressed their objection over the sluggish process of land allocations during the ongoing winter session of the Parliament.

As per the recommendations of Srikrishna Committee report and AP Reorganisation Act 2014, Andhra Pradesh was supposed to build its own infrastructure whereas newly carved state Telangana, would use the existing high court set up.

Expressing concern over the demand of High Court division of the erstwhile state of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana Rashtra Samithi members staged a protest in the premises of parliament. Accusing Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu of delaying land allocation process, TRS MP K Kavitha pointed that the Chief Minister should come clean on the important issue of land required for the construction of High court.
