Mumbai, January 3: HMD Global is likely to launch a 4G variant of Nokia 3310 along with Nokia 6 in January 2018. A leaked picture of Nokia 3310 4G was spotted on TENAA certification website.

According to a TENAA listing surfaced by Phone Radar, a new version of the 3310 has gone through China’s version of the FCC and is shown to support TD-LTE and TD-SCDMA, two of the country’s most popular wireless bands.

The 3310 is also said to be running Alibaba’s Yun OS, which isn’t that surprising given that the 3G version runs a different OS than the 2G version, despite them looking identical.

As per Media reports, the 4G variant will support TD-LTE, TD-SCDMA and also GSM networks and is listed with Android-based YunOS. The company is likely to announce its flagship mobile Nokia 9 and Nokia 6 at an event in China soon.

Nokia used to be one of the world's biggest mobile phone manufacturers but it fell behind with the advent of iPhone and Android smartphones. In 2014, Nokia's Devices and Services division was sold to Microsoft. In 2016, Finnish company HMD Global bought a part of Microsoft's feature phone business and has a licensing agreement that allows it to make smartphones under the Nokia brand.
