Goa Minister opposes Parrikar’s Mahadayi move

Panaji, January 5: Hinting a major faceoff with the senior coalition partner BJP over the issue of Mahadayi water sharing with Karnataka, Goa Water Resources Development Vinod Palienkar who represents Goa Forward Party once against reiterated that his party will not change the stand on Mahadayi row.

Speaking to the media after meeting a delegation of Mahadayi Bachav Abhiyan, Palienkar stated that state must rethink about the decision of water sharing with neighboring state Karnataka. Earlier, the Junior allice partner slammed Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar for orchestrating political drama with BJP chief B.S. Yeddyurappa.

The Minister maintained that BJP lead government state should refrain from water sharing move with Karnataka. A couple of days before, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar took on critics for fuelling the unnecessary controversy over Mahadayi issue.
