Unfortunate! four policemen martyred in massive IED blast in Kashmir’s Sopore town; JeM claims responsibility

Srinagar, January 6: In yet another coward terrorist attack that took place in Sopore town of north Kashmir's Baramulla district on Saturday, the Indians have lost four of its brave policemen. Immediately after the unfortunate incident, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti expressed her grief over the death of four policemen.

Notably, four policemen have been martyred while another personnel was injured in a powerful IED blast that took place in Sopore town of north Kashmir's Baramulla district. So far three out of four martyred policemen have been identified as ASI Irshad, a native of Doda, M Amin of Kupwara and Ghulam Nabi, a resident of Sopore area.

Soon after the blast, security forces cordoned off the area and launched search operation to hunt down the responsible terrorists. Afzal Guru Squad of Pak terror Group Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) claims responsibility for the attack. According to the sources, the IED was planted beneath a shop. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Munir Khan said that four policemen were martyred in the IED blast. He said that three shops were also damaged in the blast.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti expressed her grief over the death of four policemen. "Pained to hear that four policemen have been killed in an IED explosion in Sopore. My deepest condolences to their families", CM wrote on Twitter.


Earlier, in this week Border Security Forces (BSF) in retaliation to ceasefire destroyed two posts of Pakistani troops along International Border in Jammu district and eliminated 10 -12 Pakistani Rangers. However, security forces have led a massive war against terrorism and terrorists in the inner parts of Jammu-Kashmir and forward areas. Therefore, Anti-Terrorism operation is continued with such a speed that more than 206 terrorists were eliminated by Indian troops last year.
