If farmers fail to get MSP, Telangana will put their produce in its shopping cart

Hyderabad, January 6: It sometimes happens that our real sons of soil farmers don’t get a satisfactory amount for their produce. This lead to an increased burden on farmers in all aspects like loan debts etc. keeping this in mind CM of Telangana said that if farmers fail to get prescribed Minimum Support Price (MSP), then the State will purchase the entire produce of the farmers.

 

CM K. Chandrashekar Rao has instructed the officials concerned to take measures to enable the government to purchase the produce in case if it is not getting the required MSP in the market. He said that under the united AP rule, the farming sector in the Telangana region was neglected lead to the farmers facing losses and crisis. CM said the state government now has initiated several measures to make agriculture profitable.

 

Listing out several initiatives taken by the government, the Chief Minister said irrigation projects are being constructed, tanks are being revived, 24-hour quality and free supply of power is given to the farm sector, quality seed and fertiliser are made available on time, Rs. 8,000 per Acre is given for two crops as input subsidy from this year onwards, one Agriculture Extension Officer is appointed for every 5000 Acres, farmers are being organised to become a united force, Agriculture University is strengthened, clarity is given on the land ownership through the purification and updating of the land records. Along with these measures, necessary action will also be taken to get the MSP for the agriculture produce of farmers, the CM said.

“If farmers are happy the state would be happy. If farm sector were good then the rural economy would be good. Hence we will take all actions to get the farmer MSP for every morsel he produces,” the CM said.
