Peshawar, January 8: Pakistan doesn’t seem to learn from its mistakes though it has lost American aid over support to terror groups. Still, Pakistani leaders continue to support global terrorist and 26/11 mastermind LeT chief Hafiz Saeed’s political party Difah-e-Pakistan Council. After Palestine Ambassador to Pakistan Waleed Abu Ali shared a stage with Hafiz Saeed, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak shared the dais with Lashkar terrorist Abdul Rahman Makki.

Notably, a leader of cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf, Pervez Khattak attended a public rally of the Difa-i-Pakistan Council headed by Hafiz Saeed in Peshawar on Sunday. However, during this rally Hafiz Saeed was not present as he was barred from attending the meeting by the Punjab government in Pakistan but his right hand and brother-in-law Makki was present.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa CM Pervez Khattak attended the public rally in a bid to please hardcore religious groups in the country and seek their support for upcoming elections. On this occasion, while lauding Difa-i-Pakistan Council, Pervez Khattak said that DPC has always defended religion whenever anyone spoke against it.

Taking credit, he said that not only his government served religion but also took initiatives for it which were never thought before. Pervez Khattak also added that his government installed solar systems in the mosques and allocated salaries for the clerics.

Pervez Khattak’s presence in Hafiz Saeed’s party rally came as a surprise as his party chief Imran Khan has been a vocal critic of the Difa-i-Pakistan Council. Meanwhile, local media claimed that Khattak’s attendance indicates PTI’s “formal induction” in the council.

This comes few days after United States suspended billion American aid to Pakistan alleging of playing double games and US President Donald Trump’s tweet accusing the country of giving nothing to the US but "lies and deceit" and providing "safe haven" to terrorists in return for $33 billion aid over the last 15 years.

Earlier, Palestine Ambassador to Pakistan Waleed Abu Ali shared a stage with global terrorist and 26/11 mastermind LeT chief Hafiz Saeed at Difah-e-Pakistan Council rally in Liaquat Bagh, Rawalpindi. After India’s strong criticize, Palestine recalled its envoy and said that it was an unintended mistake, but not justified.

Difah-e-Pakistan Council is an umbrella group of 40 religious and extremist groups in Pakistan, headed by the JuD chief and 26/11 mastermind Hafiz Saeed.
