Srinagar, January 8: Security forces on Monday afternoon gunned down an unknown terrorist in Chadoora of Budgam district in Jammu and Kashmir after a group of terrorists opened fire on a police party. However, the combat operation is still underway.

 

Notably, heavily armed terrorists launched an attack on a police party in Chadoora of Budgam district in Jammu and Kashmir. As soon as the terrorists attacked police party, security forces retaliated heavily and killed an unknown terrorist. One more terrorist is believed to be holed at the site. Security forces have cordoned off the area and search is on for the other terrorist.

 

According to the official sources, the Army`s Rashtriya Rifles, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Special Operations Group (SOG) of state police were on its way to eliminate terrorists after getting a specific input about their presence. The police official said, "As the security forces closed in, they were fired at by terrorists, triggering an encounter." "One terrorist has been killed in this operation which is still on," the police official added.

 

Security forces have led a massive war against terrorism and terrorists in the inner parts of Jammu-Kashmir and forward areas. Therefore, Anti-Terrorism operation is continued with such a speed that more than 206 terrorists were eliminated by Indian troops last year.
