Visit to Kolkata’s Victoria Memorial is now just one click away

Kolkata, January 8: Victoria Memorial, one of the favorite tourist sites in Kolkata is now just one click away. The long queue won’t bother anymore the enthusiasts as e-ticketing facility has been launched. In addition to that, the monumental site will be under heavier security. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is likely to take over the security of Victoria Memorial from January 15.

The new security system will also ensure the safety of visitors. The new one will replace the existing three-tier security by the Kolkata Police, private agencies, and the Memorial's own security.

"CISF will take charge of the security from January 15 and we are constructing a barrack for the CISF personnel inside the premises for their permanent accommodation. We have made temporary arrangements for their stay at Kolkata Port Trust barrack in Kidderpore area," Victoria Memorial Curator Jayanta Sengupta said on the sidelines of the launch of e-ticketing system.
