Yamaha recalls 23,897 FZ and Fazer bikes in India

Mumbai, January 8: Yamaha Motor India has recalled 23, 897 bikes of two models - Yamaha FZ 25 and Yamaha Fazer 25 to repair head cover bolt. The recall relates to the two models manufactured after January 2017 and includes 21640 unites of FZ 25 model and 2,257 units of Fazer 25 model.

"This voluntary recall is being undertaken to address an issue related to head cover bolt loosening in 23,897 motorcycles manufactured from January 2017," the company said in a statement.

"The affected motorcycles will be repaired free of cost at any of the Yamaha authorized dealers and the owners will be contacted individually. Yamaha is working closely with the dealer partners to ensure the repair experience is as convenient and efficient as possible," it said.

The Yamaha FZ 25 was introduced last year and has been a successful model for the motorcycle maker. The Yamaha Fazer 25, uses the same components as the FZ, but has been designed as a sports tourer and comes with a complete fairing.

The Yamaha FZ 25 is priced at Rs 1.19 lakh while the full-faired Fazer 25 is slightly more expensive at Rs 1.22 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
