Andhra Pradesh CM Chandra Babu Naidu pitches for tourist-friendly ecosystem

Amaravati, Oct 10: In a bid to boost the tourism sector, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandra Babu Naidu has asked officials to develop a tourist-friendly ecosystem. Charing the review meeting of Tourism Department at Secretariat here, Naidu demanded a calendar that can provide prior information about various tourists’ places of the coastal state.

In recently held National Tourism Awards 2018, Andhra Pradesh won the title of best State for Comprehensive Development of Tourism. Underlining the importance of state-crafted handicrafts and handlooms, the Chief Minister expressed the need for effective promotional activities for handloom marketing.

During this meeting, Babu discussed the proposed plan of Cruise tourism, where state government with the help of cruise firms is planning to develop a circuit from Visakhapatnam to Kakinada, Krishnapatnam and Krishna river with a seating capacity of up to 200 people. With three major ports, Andhra Pradesh has a long coastline of 974 Km.
