China's expansionism affecting India-Nepal: Indresh Kumar

Muzaffarpur, Oct 10: India and Nepal are affected by the expansionist plans of China. India is not expansionist by nature but China is instigating Nepal against India and wants to acquire that Himalayan Nation. China's expansionist attitude is dominant in Nepal, not India, said Indresh Kumar, senior RSS functionary and Patron of Forum for Awareness of National Security (FANS).

He was addressing a seminar on “India-Nepal Relations in the perspective of National Security” organised jointly by Forum for Awareness of National Security (FANS) and BRA Bihar Vishwavidyalaya here on Sunday.

Discussing at length topics like common heritage of India and Nepal, cultural similarity, and Religious commonality Indresh Kumar said that India once played a decisive role in the world. Foreign chroniclers have noted that there was no beggar in India. Mahatma Buddha was born in Lumbini in Nepal but his mission was carried out in India. The 12 Jyotirlingas, and Shaktipeethas are the common heritage of both India and Nepal.

He said that Muzaffarpur is an important point in Indo-Nepal relations. We are two countries but our lifestyle and culture is one. Muzaffarpur will add a new dimension to the bilateral relations. The public mind set of this district is rich in intellectual, cultural, social and political aspects. And through this a message of love and friendship can be sent to both the neighbours, Indresh Kumar said. India and Nepal together can challenge the expansionist China, he added.

He said that India is not just tolerant but accepts all faiths and beliefs. Launching a frontal attack on terrorism Indresh Kumar said that the gun snatches both jobs and food and creates terror among the people. That is why terrorism should not be eulogized. Terrorists increase the enmity between the two countries and therefore, they should be eliminated.

Nepal MP Pradip Yadav said that Nepal has ‘Roti-Beti’ Relations with Bihar thus pointing to deeper affinity between the two peoples. He said that they are opposing installation of bio-metric system on Indo-Nepal border.

Another Nepal MP Rameshwar Rai discussed the issues that would add to problems of Madhesi people because of the sealing of the border. He said that Nepal has a leaning towards China and recommended to encourage people to people mixing between the two neighbours.

Muzaffarpur MP Ajay Nishad said that he would put a proposal to the Central Government for improving the Indo-Nepal relations.

BRA Bihar Vishwavidyalaya Vice-Chancellor Amrendra Narayan Yadav presided over the seminar while proceedings were conducted by Virandra Kumar Singh.

The seminar was addressed by Muzaffarpur MP Ajay Nisad, Gopalganj MP Janak Ram, VC Amrendra Narayan Yadav, FANS Convener Kumar Shartendu Shekahr, Socialist thinker Surendra Kumar and FANS organising secretary Golok Bihari Rai.
