Madhya Pradesh to have pink polling booths managed by women

Bhopal, October 10: You might find different colored booths in Madhya Pradesh, as the election commission is establishing 500 pink booths in the state for the assembly election. Elections will be held on November 28 and counting will be held on December 11 in state.


 

According to official of election commission, these polling booths will run by only women officers and workers. Similarly, only disabled employees will ensure election process at 20 to 25 polling stations of the state.

Additionally, Electronic Voting Machines and Postal Ballot Papers will have photographs of the candidates in poll-bound States. According to Election Commission, this will help avoid any confusion about the candidates contesting the election similar names in the same constituency. The Commission has directed the candidates to submit their recent Stamp Size photograph to the Returning Officers.

The Election Commission on Saturday chalked dates for the five states namely Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram. The election will begin from November 12 and the results will be out on December 11. The model code of conduct, imposing restrictions for free and fair elections, was enforced as the announcement was made by Election Commissioner OP Rawat.
