Former PDP leader and Son of Karan Singh joins Congress

New Delhi, Oct 11: Former Jammu and Kashmir lawmaker Vikramaditya Singh today snapped ties with Mehbooba Mufti’s PDP and joined Congress.

A hotelier by profession, Vikramaditya Singh is the son of veteran Congress leader Dr.Karan Singh. Vikramaditya was the member of J&K Legislative  Council. On this occasion, leader of the opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad, Ambika Soni, and Shaktisinh Gohil were present.

Speaking to the media, Ghulam Nabi Azad slammed BJP-PDP government for misleading the people of J&K. The former Chief Minister mentioned that Vikramaditya Singh and his family members were instrumental in curtailing politically motivated activities of BJP.

Former Union Minister Ambika Soni stated that BJP-PDP fragile government compelled Vikramaditya Singh to take this move.

A prominent Dogra leader, Karan Singh is the son of Maharaja Hari Singh.

Earlier, the former Union Minister urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to rename Jammu airport as Raja Hari Singh airport.

Maharaja Hari Singh had signed the crucial Instrument of Accession on October 26, 1947. He was instrumental in bringing several social welfares and developmental in the Himalayan state.
