New Delhi, Oct 11: Responding to the changes on Union Minister MJ Akbar who came under fire on the changes of sexual harassment of a junior scribe, Union Textile Minister Smriti Irani without taking name said that the gentlemen should take the call on this issue.

When asked about the ongoing #MeToo campaign where digital platforms are flooded with #MeToo stories of female victims, the actor turned politician welcoming the move opined that anybody who is speaking out should not feel ashamed or victimized. The Minister urged society to respect the sentiments of the courageous women.

“I am hopeful that all these ladies who are speaking out get the justice that they deserve,” said Irani.

Earlier, journalist Priya Ramani accused former editor and Minister of State for External Affairs M J Akbar of misbehavior during her initial days of journalism.
