Mumbai, Oct 12: Senior Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut has asked BJP to resolve the long pending issue of Ram temple. Speaking to the media, the Samna editor demanded that the ruling party must keep its historic poll-promise ahead of 2019 general elections.

Taking a cue from former VHP activist Pravin Togadiya’s argument on Ram Mandir, the former Rajya Sabha MP stated that a separate legislation should be introduced to ensure the hassle-free construction of Ram Mandir.

Taking a dig at Modi government’s recent move of triple talaq ordinance and restoration of SC/ST provision, Raut said, “why not on Ram Temple?”.

Earlier RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat said that those political parties voicing their opposition to Ram Mandir at Ayodhya are doing so out of political compulsion driven by vote bank politics.

The Ayodhya matter is pending with SC and regular hearing will start from October 29.
