Salem, Oct 15: Rebuffing the charges of being a part-time politician, Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) founder Kamal Haasan said that people doubting his intention must revisit the tenure of legendary actor and former Chief Minister M. G. Ramachandran. He was addressing the gathering of MNM workers.

Invoking late M. G. Ramachandran’s political journey, the ace actor claimed that even MGR did not give up cinema even after assuming the office of MLA. The award-winning actor on several occasion came under fire over his association with the silver screen even after the announcement of Makkal Needhi Maiam. On this occasion, the Makkal Needhi Maiam Chief shared anecdotes with M. G. Ramachandran.

Commenting on current political development in the state, the 63-year actor blamed the TN government for not addressing the vital issues faced by the common people. Expressing concern over the money-centric electoral politics in the state, Kamal Haasan, urged people not to sell their votes to political parties.

Underling the importance of voting, the Makkal Needhi Maiam opined that one should not waste the vital opportunity of voting. He went on saying that instead of pressing Nota, choose MNM for better and brighter Tamil Nadu.
