BJP announces candidates for Karnataka bye-elections; Yeddyurappa’s son bags Shimoga

New Delhi/ Bengaluru, Oct 17: A day after Chief Minister Kumaraswamy’s prediction on upcoming by-elections, BJP today announced the names of candidates for the bye-elections to the three parliamentary and two legislative constituencies in the state of Karnataka.

B.Y. Raghavendra, son of former Chief Minister President B. S. Yeddyurappa has managed to get Shimoga Parliamentary segment, a traditional seat of Yeddyurappa, who is heading the state Unit of BJP

During 2017 Karnataka assembly polls, Yeddyurappa was keen on fielding Raghavendra from Varuna assembly segment, later the plan was dropped after the intervention of BJP’s apex leadership.

J Shanta will contest from Bellary, earlier represented by Sriramalu whereas Siddaramegowda will fight from Mandya.

L Chandrasekhar will take on JD(S) Anitha Kumaraswamy from Ramanagarm assembly and Shrikanth Kulkarni has been roped in for Jamkhandi legislative segment.
