Nagpur, Oct 18: Without mincing words, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohanrao Bhagwat on Thursday asked the Government to clear the path for construction of Ram Temple at Ayodhya through appropriate and requisite law.

Dr Bhagwat was addressing the 93 Foundation Day of RSS that was found on the Auspicious Day of Vijayadashami in 1925 by Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar at Nagpur. Nobel Laurette and global Champion of Chied Rights Kailash Satyarthi was the chief guest of the program.

The program at Reshambag was attended by musician Ustad Rashid Khan and his wife Soha Khan, Union Surface Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of State K J Alphons, Warkari Sant Ranuji Maharaj, NDA Sr Director Anvar Ali, Indigo Director Nitin Chunani, Rashtra Sevika Samiti Pramukh Sanchalika Shantakka, former Pramukh Sanchalika Pramilatai Medhe, Datta Meghe, and others. Nagpur Mahanagar Sanghchalak Rajesh Loya made the introductory remarks.

Touching various contemporary important issues and focusing on Ram Mandir issue, Dr Bhagwat described it as a matter of National Interest. Shri Ram is the personification of the life energy of the nation and an icon of upholding dharma. He urged the judiciary to take a decision in this regard. “There is an obvious game plan of a few elements to stall the judgement by presenting various newer interventions in the judicial process. It is in nobody’s interest to test the patience of the society without any reason. The construction of temple is necessary from the self-esteem point of view; it will also pave the way for an atmosphere of goodwill and oneness in the country”, Bhagwat said.

He also urged the government to bring in necessary legislation to facilitate the construction of a grand Ram Mandir at Ram Jamnabhumi in Ayodhya. This matter of national interest is being obstructed by some fundamentalist elements and forces that play communal politics for selfish gains. Despite such machinations, the decision regarding ownership of the land should be expedited, and the government should clear the path for construction of the grand temple through appropriate and requisite law, he added.

The Sarsanghchalak also criticized the rise of Urban Maoists and their divisive ideology. Dealing the issue of urban Naxalism at length in course of his long speech today, Dr Bhagwat said that an atmosphere of divergence, separatism, violence, acerbic hatred and going to the extent of fueling anti-national sentiments is being created by exploiting these grievances. When the violent activities in remote forest areas were dealt with firmly, those leading and abetting violence were seen at the forefront of these agitations as votaries of Urban Naxalism.

He said that these Urban Maoists have set up relations with jihadi elecments and added that the actual presence of Jihadi and terrorist elements in one way or the other is a common factor among all these. So the emerging conclusion is, this is a bigger canny conspiracy in collusion with forces from within and outside the country. It no more remains just a power politics by the opposition, but in this process, politically ambitious individuals and groups – either knowingly or unknowingly – and weaker sections, crushed under deprivation and neglect get drawn as ammunition unknowingly or unwillingly, he added and described this as ‘Mantrayuddh’ in our traditional Rajneeti Shastras.

Dr Bhagwat urged the government to be alert to ensure that such events do not recur.

The RSS Chief also touched upon the most sensitive issue of elections. He said that the voters have to perform the most important duty of electing the government as part of his ordained duty in the democratic system of our country. He said that the five-yearly elections are approaching ahead referring to the ensuing Lok Sabha elections next year. The decision we make on that single day of election makes use bear the brunt of good or bad effects in the short term, he said urging the voters to ponder over dispassionately upon the sincerity and capability of the candidate, commitment of the party on the issues of national interest and for the integrity of the nation and experience of the past before voting.

No one is perfect in the politics, Dr Bhagwat said that though the election commission has made the option of NOTA available for voters they should refrain from using it. Using NOTA is like non-voting. He said and appealed them to elect the “available best” from the present lot of politicians.

Making it clear that RSS has kept itself aloof from the party politics and continue to do so, he urged the people to ensure 100 percent voting in the elections and fulfill their duty as responsible citizens.

Earlier, the swayamsevaks presented various physical drills, band display and niyuddha (unarmed combat skills).
