Vijayawada, Oct 19: Raking up the issue of alleged financial irregularities, senior BJP leader GVL Narasimha Rao has asked TDP MP CM Ramesh to step down over the charges of corruption.

Speaking to the media here, Rao demanded a stern action against the TDP lawmaker who is under the scanner over the reported charges of tax evasions and financial irregularities.

According to media reports, the central agency has traced out the suspicious transactions of Rs 100 reportedly linked with TDP leader’s firm. On October 12, raids were conducted by the income tax department at Ramesh’s establishment in Hyderabad.

Earlier, TDP National President Nara Chandra Babu Naidu and C M Ramesh had accused Modi government of political vendetta and dubbed IT raids as political revenge.

Refuting the charges leveled by the yellow army members, the Rajya Sabha MP asked Naidu to pursue the matter of Ramesh who is the member of public accounts committee.

“Telugu Desam Party must sack C Ramesh otherwise I will approach to parliament ethics committee”, said Narasimha Rao.

A native of Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh, as a mark of protest against BJP government, CM Ramesh was on indefinite hunger strike demanding an integrated steel plant in Kadapa district under the provisions of AP Reorganisation Act.
