I have right to pray but won’t desecrate Sabarimala’s sanctity: Smriti Irani

Mumbai, Oct 23: Commenting on the raging controversy of Sabarimala Temple, Union Minister Smriti Irani said that one should refrain from desecrating the sanctity of the ancient shrine.

Addressing the Young Thinkers' Conference here, the Union Minister opined that people Should recognize the difference between a right to pray and the right to desecrate.

As quoted by ANI, the 42- year actor turned politician said, “Would you take sanitary napkins soaked in menstrual blood into a friend's home? So why would you take them into the house of God”.

Earlier, several religious groups and women devotees lord Ayyappa staged a protest against the entry of women activist and journalists into the Sabarimala Temple.
