Five terrorists killed in encounters with security forces in J&K

Srinagar, October 25: In Jammu & Kashmir, five terrorists were killed in two different encounters with security forces today. Two Lashkar e Toiba terrorists were killed in a gunfight with joint security forces at Kreeri area Baramulla district. The identity of slain terrorists is being ascertained.


 

The gunfight started early this morning following the launch of cordon and search operation by joint security forces in the area. In another incident, three terrorists were killed in a gunfight in Arwani Bijbehara area of Anantnag district this evening. The encounter began following the launch of cordon and search operation in the area.

The counter-terrorist operation was launched by joint security forces on the basis of specific information about the presence of terrorists in the residential area. The identity of the slain terrorists is being ascertained. The search operation is underway in the area.

Two Pakistan intruders were killed in a fierce encounter with Army in Sunderbani sector on the Line of Control in Jammu on Sunday. However, in this encounter, three Indian Army soldiers also attained martyrdom.

Along with this, three Jaish-e-Mohammad, terrorists have been eliminated in an encounter that had erupted in laroo at Kulgam in South Kashmir early morning of Sunday.

Director General of Police Dilbagh Singh said that encounter is over and searches at the encounter site are continuing. Two army personnel were also injured in the initial fire by terrorists when a cordon and search operation was launched in the area.
