Case filed against Tamil Nadu BJP Chief Tamilisai Soundararajan for threatening Co-passenger

Chennai/ Thoothukudi, Oct 26: A case has been resisted against Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, state in-charge of BJP’s Tamil Nadu unit for allegedly threatening Co-passenger Lois Sophia.

On Thursday, the local Court directed cops to file a case against Soundararajan. A case under the Sections 341, 294(b) and 506(1) under the Indian Penal Code (IPC), has been filed against the state BJP Chief.

On September 3, as a mark of protest, Sophia raised anti- BJP slogan against the Thoothukudi firing which claimed lives of 14 citizens.

Earlier, Sophia's father had approached the court and sought action against Tamilisai Soundararajan and BJP workers over the allegations of misconduct. According to media reports, Sophia and Tamilisai Soundararajan had a verbal confrontation over the alleged anti- BJP slogans on a Chennai-Tuticorin flight.

Irked with Sophia’s move, Soundararajan approached police administration and lodged a complaint against the Co-passenger. Later she was arrested and then released on unconditional bail.
