EC instructs special checking of passengers arriving by personal plane & helicopter at airports in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal, October 26: The election commission has said that special checking of passengers arriving by personal plane and helicopter should be done at airports in Madhya Pradesh. The commission has also instructed that the baggage of passengers arriving by commercial flights and personal planes should also be checked.


 

In the review meeting of monitoring and election expenditure, Chief Election Officer said that prohibitive action should be constantly taken in order to hold a fair and transparent election.

The Election Commission has banned the poll campaign through SMS and Whatsapp Call from 10 in the night to 6 in the morning for the next month Assembly election. The polling will be held on 28th November in a single phase.

The Commission has said that house to house campaigning, sending SMS or Whatsapp calling during these timings is a violation of the privacy of citizens. It has asked all the political parties to respect the privacy of the voters.

The Election Commission is also planning to use social media platforms for election-related activities to attract young voters. There are over 2 crores 82 lakh young voters between the age group of 18 and 39 years in the State. State election commission has already opened accounts on Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, and you-tube in order to utilize the activeness of youngsters on social media.

Assembly polls in the state are scheduled for 28th November and counting of votes will take place on 11th December
