Anupam Kher steps down as FTII chairman

New Delhi, Oct 31: Acclaimed film artist Anupam Kher today stepped down from the post of Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) chairman.

Citing the reason of International project ‘New Amsterdam’, the ace actor took to Twitter and announced the decision.

“Because of my international assignments, I won’t have much time to devote at the institute. Hence decided to send my resignation, he mentioned. 

The 63-year-old actor thanked Information and Broadcasting Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore for his FTII tenue.

On this occasion, the award-winning actor thanked FTII students, teachers and other staff for their kind support and appreciation.

The versatile actor will be seen in director Vijay Gutte’s political drama 'The Accidental Prime Minister’. The film is based on the book penned by Manmohan Singh's media adviser Sanjay Baru. The film will hit the theatres on December 21.
