Mumbai, Oct 4: ICICI Banker Chanda Kochhar today stepped down from the post of Chief Executive Officer. According to media reports, Kochhar who is accused of financial irregularities requested panel to take a call on her early retirement plea.
Responding to the same, the Board of Directors of ICICI Bank today accepted the resignation of Kochhar. She will also quit the boards of ICICI Bank subsidiaries.
The apex decision-making body approved the name of Sandeep Bakhshi for the post of Managing Director and Chief Executive.
Several reports were surfaced about Chanda Kochhar where she was allegedly asked to go on leave for the purpose of an independent inquiry on alleged financial offenses linked with ICICI-Videocon loan case.
On the other hand, Deepak Kochhar, husband of Chanda Kochhar is also under the scanner of investigative agencies.
