Chhattisgarh: Security forces achieve success in eliminating 3 Maoists from Sukma district

Ranchi, October 4: In Chhattisgarh, Security forces have achieved a success in eliminating three Maoists in Sukma district of Bastar region on Wednesday. Superintendent of Police Abhishek Meena confirmed the incident.


 

Following a specific input about the presence of Maoists, a team of District Force had launched an intensive search operation near Dantewada border. The encounter took place in the forest of Muler area.

The bodies of killed Maoists were recovered from the spot. Security forces also recovered a large number of weapons, including four rifles, one country-made pistol and a pipe bomb from the spot.

Meanwhile, three Maoists, including a female rebel, surrendered in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh.

These Maoists surrendered before IG, Bastar range, Vivekanand Sinha.

On Saturday, 15 Naxals including a couple surrendered in Sukma district yesterday. Police said, the rebels, four of them carrying cash rewards on their heads, turned themselves in before police and CRPF officials in Sukma town. Superintendent of Police Abhishek Meena said among the surrendered Naxals, Kunjam Kosa was the most dreaded one. Kosa's wife Kunjam Parvati also surrendered.

In their statements, the surrendered rebels said they were fed up with violence of the Naxal movement and exploitation of cadres by the senior leaders.
