Madhya Pradesh celebrates its 63rd Foundation Day today

Bhopal, November 1: Madhya Pradesh is celebrating its 63rd Foundation Day with traditional pride and grandeur today. Due to assembly elections, the two-day celebrations will be a low key event this year. Madhya Pradesh was founded on this day in 1956 and now is the second largest Indian state in size with an area of 3 Lakh 8 thousand sq. km. The foundation day will be celebrated in all the districts of the state.


 

Governor Anandiben Patel congratulated the people of the state on the foundation day. She called the citizens to make the state clean, healthy and environment-friendly. This year, the theme for the celebrations is the heritage of MP and all performances will revolve around folk and classical performances.

All the events will be held at Ravindra Bhavan. Artists like classical singer Pandit Chhannulal Mishr, flutist Pandit Rajendra Prasanna, folk singer Mura Lala and semi-classical singer Meeta Pandit have been invited for the event. Folk dances including Dhimariya, Badhai, Naurata, Akhada, Matki and Gudumbajan will also be the major attraction of the foundation day events
