Cabinet gives a nod for setting up central tribal university in Andhra Pradesh

New Delhi, November 10: Taking a major cabinet decisions, the Modi government has approved setting up of a Central Tribal University in Andhra Pradesh. The 'Central Tribal University of Andhra Pradesh' will be set up in Relli village of Vizianagaram district as provided under the 13th schedule to the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014.

 

Speaking at a press conference after Cabinet meeting, Union Information and Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said a fund of Rs 420 crore for the first phase expenditure towards establishment of the university has been approved.

Other major decision taken in Cabinet meeting:

The Cabinet has given in-principle approval for operation, management and development of Jaipur, Lucknow, Thiruvananthapuram, Guwahati, Ahmedabad and Mangaluru airports on PPP (Public private partnership) model.

# Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved strategic disinvestment of 100 per cent Government of India’s equity in the Dredging Corporation of India Ltd.

# In-principle approval for operation, management and development of Jaipur, Lucknow, Thiruvananthapuram, Guwahati, Ahmedabad and Mangaluru airports on PPP (Public private partnership) model.

# In-principle approval for sale of enemy shares under the custody of Ministry of Home Affairs/Custodian of Enemy Property of India (CEPI).

# Cabinet approves signing and ratifying the Extradition Agreement between India and Morocco, the Agreement will provide a legal base for the extradition of fugitive offenders accused of economic offences, terrorism and other serious offences.
