Railway to flag off Shri Ramayan Express tomorrow

New Delhi, Nov 14: The Indian Railway will be launching a new train called Shri Ramayan Express from November 14, 2018. This train will pass through all the important places associated with the life and mission of Lord Sri Ram.

The 16-day package tour of this train will take the commuters to all the holy places mentioned in the Ramayana. The passengers can also have the opportunity to visit places in Sri Lanka mentioned in the Ramayana. However, they will have to book the air ticket for their Sri Lanka tour from Chennai to Colombo, according to the Railway sources.

This entire tour is being managed by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). I may be mentioned that Railway Minister Piyush Goyal had made an announcement about launching this Ramayana Express in July. The special Ramayan Express train starting from Safdarganj Railway Station will halt at Ayodhya, Nandigram, Janakpur, Varanasi, Prayag, Shringaverpur, Chitrakut, Nasik, Hamp and Rameshwaram.

Piyush Goyal to flag off train on Wednesday

Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal will flag off the Ramayan Express on Wednesday from New Delhi’s Safdarganj railway station. The train has capacity to accommodate 800 passengers one time. The first halt of the train will be Ayodhya, Hanuman Garhi, Ramkot, and Kanak Bhavan Mandir. After visiting these places the train will move on to Nandigram, Sitamarhi, Janakpur, Varanasi, Prayag, Shringverpur, Chitrakut, Nasik, Hampi and Rameshwaram.
