New Delhi, November 13: Thailand surely has a perfect surprise for this year ending. So if you are planning for a dreamy year ending vacay destination, book your tickets for Thailand.

 

Interestingly, Indian passport holders can now visit Thailand without paying any visa-on-arrival fee. In order to boost its tourism and tourist inflow, Thailand's government recently approved a measure to waive off visa-on-arrival fee paid by the visitors. India is among 21 countries who are not required to pay the visa fee of 2,000 baht which is equal to Rs 4,385 anymore.

The visa fee is waived off for a period between December 1, 2018, and January 31, 2019, for travellers. However, this fee is waived off only for those people who are not planning to stay in Thailand for more than 15 days.

 

It may be noted that IndiGo will commence flight operations to Male, Maldives and Phuket, Thailand from November. The budget carrier is introducing daily flights between Delhi and Phuket from November 23, 2018, onwards. The airline is offering flight tickets to Phuket starting at Rs 16,000 - 17,000. Return flight tickets are available at around Rs 17,000 as well.

Another budget airline GoAir is all set to launch direct flights to the exotic islands of Phuket and Malé from Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru starting December 9, 2018. The ticket for Phuket from Bengaluru is priced at Rs 16,999. The airline is also offering GoHolidays Phuket package starting at Rs 21,699.

Worth mentioning here is that this fee is waived off for 21 countries including Bulgaria, Cyprus, Mauritius, Andora, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Fiji, Taiwan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, San Marino, Latvia, Kazakhstan, China, Bhutan, Ethiopia, Lithuania, India, Malta, Papua New Guinea, and China.
