Mumbai, Nov 16: Filmmaker Pa Ranjith is all set to direct a biopic on legendary freedom fighter Birsa Munda. Marking the 143rd birth anniversary of Birsa Munda, Namah Picture, makers behind Pa Ranjith’s first Hindi directorial debut took to Twitter and officially announced the project.

Pa Ranjith shot to fame with Superstar Rajinikanth starrer Kabali is known for his politically toned social dramas. Ranjith will recreate the saga, Birsa Munda, the legendary warrior raised an army of tribals and fought against the atrocities of British rules.
Produced under the banner of Namah picture, this movie will be based on veteran author Mahasweta Devi’s ‘Jangal Ke Davedar’.
