Actor Sudheer Babu starts preparation for Pullela Gopichand biopic

Hyderabad, Nov 16: Actor Sudheer Babu who is gearing up for the movie based on legendary badminton player Pullela Gopichand on his 43rd birthday today took to Twitter and extended best wishes to the award-winning badminton player.


 

 “Back to my first girlfriend #Badminton ... As people say, "First love is always alive”!! Preparation time for #PullelaGopichand”, he mentioned on Twitter.

The Handsome hunk who is also a badminton player along with director Praveen Sattaru will recreate the fascinating journey of the internationally acclaimed badminton player and the great coach. IT professional turned director Praveen Sattaru is known for projects like Guntur Talkies and PSV Garuda Vega. Praveen also working on Baahubali- Netflix series.

Leading production house Fox Star Studios in association with Abundantia Entertainment will bankroll the sports drama. The Multi-lingual project will go to the floor in December.

According to media reports, makers are planning to present the life journey in two parts. The first part will depict Gopichand’s tenure as a badminton player and the second part will unfold the story of Gopichand as a coach.

Sudheer Babu, a prominent face in Telugu film dome shot to fame with Tiger Shroff- Shraddha Kapoor starrer Baaghi. Last seen in Mohanakrishna Indraganti’s Telugu classic Sammohanam where along with Aditi Rao Hydari. His latest offering was Nannu Dochukunduvate. Sudheer Babu is the brother-in-law of famous actor Mahesh Babu.

The ace actor is also working on another movie Yatra which is based on the life of late Congress leader and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajashekhara Reddy where he will be entering into the skin of Jagan Mohan Reddy, son of YSR and Chief of YSR Congress.

In 2008, the legendary player founded Gopichand Badminton Academy in a bid to encourage young talents in the field of Badminton. Gopichand is the man behind celebrated international players like Saina Nehwal, P. V. Sindhu, Parupalli Kashyap, Srikanth Kidambi, and Arundhati Pantawane.

On the other hand, a separate film based on Saina Nehwal is being helmed by Amol Gupte where Shraddha Kapoor has been roped in for the titular role. The film went to floors on September 22. The film is reportedly based on ‘Saina Nehwal: An Inspirational Biography’ penned by veteran journalist T Sudhir.
