Faridabad (Haryana), Nov 24: Paying rich tributes to founder of Sikh Sect Guru Nanak Devji on his 550th “Prakash Parv”, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarkaryawah Suresh alias Bhayyaji Joshi said that Guru Nanak Devji led the people on to a righteous path and paved the way leading a pure life. His teachings are relevant even in the present situation, he added.

Bhayyaji Joshi paid a visit to Gurudwara at Faridabad and paid his respects to Guru Nanak Devji on this occasion of 550th Prakash Parv.

He said that we are fortunate to be the witness of this 550th Prakash Parv of Guru Nanak Devji, which began on this Kartik Poornima. Guru Nanak Devji in his life time travelled 45000 km from the Himalayas to Sri Lanka to Mecca-Medina, Tashkand, Iran, Iraq to Tibet, Arunachal Pradesh and even Bangladesh and set up dialogue with the religious and social leadership of his time.

He propagated rejection of outdated customs and blind rituals that were weakening the society and spread the spiritual tradition of Bharat that inspired the people to achieve the goal of life with devotion to the Almighty. He guided the people with ‘Kirat Kar, Nam Japu, Vand Chhako’ and his guidance is still relevant in the modern times.

He inspired the society to stand up against injustice and lead the life with self-respect. He deplored Babar, the Mughal invader for the atrocities he committed on the people and declared that Bharat will emerge with shine from this atrocities and terror.

Later the Khalsa Sect came in to existence as a continuation of this tradition of awakening and sacrifice. The Khalsa had established their supremacy from Kabul to Kandahar and closed the doors permanently for the invaders and played an important role in the freedom struggle.

Today when the entire society is involved in blind competition and sinful activities, Guru Nanak Devji’s message holds greater promise for the society for it was not only to achieve the self-realisation but also aimed at emancipating the society.

Bhayyaji Joshi said that in the 550th Prakash Parv of Guru Nanak Devji a number of programs should be organised through which his teaching can be spread to children, youth, entrepreneurs, farmers and intellectuals in the society.
