Supporting socio-economic development of Maldives, India extends a strong bilateral relation with the nation

New Delhi, November 27: After a successful bilateral discussion with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj implementing strong relation between India and Maldives, Maldives Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid called on President Ram Nath Kovind.

Welcoming Maldives Foreign Minister Shahid and his delegation to India, President Kovind said that India and Maldives enjoy a uniquely special, close and friendly relationship. The government of India’s vision of inclusive development also extends to our neighbourhood including Maldives. We are always ready to support the socio-economic development of Maldives.

 

President Ram Nath Kovind noted that the government of Maldives has launched a 100-day action plan that is people-centric and aimed at transforming the lives of the people of Maldives. He stated that India will support the government of Maldives’ efforts and work in alignment with its identified priorities.

Reflecting the harmonious synergy of India's 'Neighbourhood First' and Maldives 'India First' policy. Both the countries are working together to fulfil the developmental priorities of Maldives. A productive meeting on deepening bilateral cooperation the two countries ensure peace and security in the region.
