Verghese Kurien’s daughter refutes charges of religious conversion

Anand, Nov 27: Negating the allegations leveled by the former Gujarat Minister  Dileep Sanghani, Nirmala Kurien, daughter of legendary Verghese Kurien, the man behind the White Revolution, said that Verghese had never misused the funds and welfare of the farmers was his ultimate goal.

Addressing the small gathering at here, referring to the remarks of BJP leader, Nirmala said that Verghese Kurien was an atheist and he never sponsored the alleged religious conversion.

Sharing some personal memories about the Milk Man, Nirmala said, “Despite being a Christian he was cremated”. She further added that people should ignore the politically toned statements.

Earlier, Dileep Sanghani a prominent BJP leader accused Verghese Kurien of financial misappropriation. Sanghani stated that Kurien had diverted funds to Christian missionaries in the tribal-dominated region of South Gujarat.
