Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Argentina to attend the G20 summit today. There will be bilateral meets between the world leaders on the sidelines of the G20 summit. The summit is scheduled for 3 days from 29th of November this year. These meetings will be turning into the wonderful forums to exchange views on bilateral matters of mutual interests.
PM Modi conveyed through the tweet saying, “I would be taking part in the G-20 Summit in Argentina from 29th November to 1st December. During the Summit, important issues relating to sustainable development, the global economy, women empowerment would be discussed.”
Prime Minister Modi will hold bilateral meetings with the Chinese president Xi Jinping followed by the trilateral meet with US and Japan in the White House. US President Donald Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Sinzo Abe will be participating in the trilateral meet with India. PM Modi will also be greeting the German Chancellor Angela Merkel on the subsidiary.
In the series of tweet further, PM Narendra Modi announced that the G20 participants will review their work of the last years and deliberate on issues concerning the global economy and trade.
He also mentioned that G20 has made commendable efforts to boost cooperation among the leading global economies. However, India's contribution to global economic growth and prosperity underlines our commitment to ‘Building Consensus for Fair and Sustainable Development’, which is the theme of the Summit.
However, the Indian Foreign secretary, Vijay Gokhale commented on Modi’s visit to Argentina informing it to be a short one. The Prime Minister will be there only for 48 hours covering various bilateral meets within. On the tenth anniversary of G20 summit, it is expected that the leaders will reflect on what has been achieved past few years and what can be looked upon in the coming decade”, he addressed the reporters.
