Samantha Akkineni roped in for ‘Miss Granny’ remake

Hyderabad, Nov 28: Talented Actress Samantha Akkineni has been roped in for the remake of South Korean comedy-drama Miss Granny. According to media reports, the multilingual project will be helmed by B Nandini Reddy where veteran Producer Suresh Babu will be backing the film.

Samantha will reprise the character donned by Na Moon-hee. The film will go to the floors in December this year. Samantha was last seen in Pawan Kumar’s bilingual crime thriller U-Turn, where she played the character of a Journalist.

The original version was directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk. Released in January 2014, the South Korean comedy-drama was appreciated by critics and fans.

As quoted by IMDB, Miss Granny is the intriguing tale of a 74-year old lady who magically finds herself in the body of her 20-year-old self after having herself photographed at a mysterious photo studio.

Samantha Akkineni is a daughter-in-law veteran actor Nagarjuna. Samantha prominently works in Telugu and Tamil cinemas. She founded her own non-governmental organization Pratyusha support which provides services in the field of health care. The ace actress is the brand ambassador for the Telangana handlooms does not take any kind of remuneration from the state government.
