‘Climate Neutral’ must by 2050- EU sets a goal to member countries.

Brussels, NOV.29: EU encouraged governments, business, citizens and regions to join it in an ambitious plan to cut emissions and make carbon neutral by 2050.
 
European Union climate commissioner Miguel Arias Canete said in press conference held in Brussels, ‘we are speeding up to determine how Europe’s energy and climate policy evolve between now and 2050’.
He said, countries will be submitting the draft on national climate and energy plans to EU till end of 2018.
 
By 2050, the EU aims to cut its emissions substantially – by 80-95% compared to 1990 levels as part of the efforts required by developed countries as a group.
Turning Europe into a highly energy efficient and low-carbon economy will also boost the economy, create jobs and strengthen Europe's competitiveness.
 
The European Commission has adopted an EU Adaptation Strategy and wants all its Member States to adopt national plans to cope with the inevitable impacts of climate change by 2017. A number of Member States have already developed adaptation strategies.
 
Delegations from more than 200 countries are coming to Poland next week for latest ‘COP24 Climate Summit’, aimed at renewing and building on Paris deal and limiting global warming.
