Madhya Pradesh: Photo identity cards provided to almost all electorates

Bhopal, November 5: The Election Commission has provided photo identity cards to almost all electorates to cast their vote on polling day on the 28th of this month. In addition to this, it has also been ensured that this time photo-based voter slips are distributed at the voters' door step. AIR correspondent reports that voters are required to present the photo-based voter identity card and voter slip at the time of voting.


 

A facility to present alternate photo based identity document has been provided by the Commission for the convenience of the voters. The permission for this facility will be given to only those voters, who have their names in the voters list but don’t have voter identity cards or their photos are not matching with the list.

The voters are required to present any one of the document out of more than dozen of documents authorized by the commission to prove his/her identity like Passport, Driving License, PAN Card, MNREGA Job card, Health Insurance Smart Card and even Photo based pension documents. The Election Commission has also given instructions that all such voters, who have their names in the voter list of the concerned Vidhan Sabha constituency, are authorized to cast their votes in that particular polling booth.
