TRAI and Apple get together in India for DND app

New Delhi, DEC 1: Apple ‘s app store is well-known for strict nature and vigilant choice about apps.

 

This vigilantism had resulted into fight between this tech-giant and Telecom Regulatory Authority of India. Due to this incident, TRAI threatened to ban Apple i-phones in India.

 

TRAI wanted Apple to approve government approved “DND” or “Do Not Disturb” app which is the company earlier denied to install.

 

But now this ‘TRAI-DND’ app is available for free on Apple apps store.

 

Earlier this year, TRAI had warned Apple about hosting the app on its app store or face a ban, TRAI gave deadline to Apple till January 2019.

 

This DND app will help consumers to curb unwanted telemarketing SMS/calls by reporting to their respective telecom service providers.Users should keep in mind that, registration of mobile number under DND will take up to 7days after requesting to activate the facility with telecom provider.

 

Apple is known for removing lot of apps which violates terms and conditions from Apple apps store. Recently, the company removed 700 apps from Chinese app store.
