Pakistani commander of LeT militant outfit Ali bhai and three other militants killed after 18 hours long battle

Srinagar, December 10: An Indian soldier, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) mounted officer and three policemen were injured late on Saturday after the encounter broke out around in the Mujgund area. A Pakistani commander of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant outfit and two of its Kashmiri militants were however killed by the Indian forces in a battle that extended long to 18 hours culminating on Sunday.
 
 
The police identified the two Kashmiri militants killed in the outskirts of the Srinagar city as Mudasir Parray and Saquib Mushtaq.The duo were probably bombarding from the Hajin area of north Kashmir’s Bandipore district. The third militant identified was Ali Bhai, who was a resident of Pakistan. According to the Jammu and Kashmir police, all the militants belonged to the LeT contending groups.
 
 
 
The operation stretched for hours as militants kept on changing locations during the gunfight within the cordoned off area, a police officer explained. Four residential houses were also damaged during the operation.
 
 
The house where terrorists were hiding was damaged during the operation. A couple of other residential houses were reported to have been damaged during the counter-terror operation. The civilians in the specified area clashed with the security forces the moment the gun battle ended on Sunday and forced the authorities to disconnect mobile Internet services in the state capital city.
 
 
 
Meanwhile, Kishtwar Police arrested a wanted terrorist Reyaz Ahmed. He is a hardcore motivator of youth who encourages them to joining militancy and terrorist activities. SSP Rajinder Gupta said that police has launched a manhunt to effect certain more arrests shortly.
