New Delhi Dec 10:#SupremeCourt dismisses #PIL challenging dissolution of J-K Assembly by governor #SatyapalMalik.

"We are not inclined to entertain," said a bench of Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice Sanjay Krishan Kaul as senior counsel Jaideep Gupta told the bench that Malik dissolved the assembly even though there were two letters before him staking claim to form the government.

Supreme court today repudiate a petition challenging Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satyapal Malik’s decision to impose Governor's rule.

Under the provision of Section 92 of the Jammu and Kashmir Constitution, Governor's rule is imposed for six months, but only after the consent of the President of India.

The Constitution of India grants special status to Jammu and Kashmir among Indian states, and it is the only state in India to have a separate Constitution and regulations specific to it.

President Ram Nath Kovind approved governor’s rule in Jammu and Kashmir in June this year, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ended its alliance with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The BJP ended its almost 40-month-old alliance with Mufti’s PDP, saying it had become impossible to continue in the government in view of the growing radicalism and terrorism in the state.
