Mumbai, Dec 12: Ambassador of Monaco in India Patrick Medecin called on Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis at his ‘Varsha’ Residence on Wednesday as a goodwill gesture.

During the meeting Medecin briefed Chief Minister Fadanvis on how Monaco being a small country has developed sea shores by utilising the available space and how it is alive to environment protection and pollution control.

He also informed the Chief Minister about the ensuing India visit of Monaco’s Prince Albert II on February 4 and 5, 2019. The Prince is also a student of environment, he said.

Chief Minister Fadanvis informed the visiting Ambassador about the measures taken by the Maharashtra Government to address the traffic system issues and sea shore development. Fadanvis said that India is also very alert about environment protection. Buses run on solar energy and 50% electric cars will be introduced for public transport besides, development of sea shore in Navi Mumbai and Mumbai areas is going on with great speed, the Chief Minister said.

Over 7 million tourists pay visit to Monaco, Patrick Medecin said extending an invitation to Chief Minister Fadanvis to visit Monaco.

On this occasion Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Bhushan Gagarani, Protocol Dy Secretary Satish Jondhale and others were present.
