Ease of doing business to increase ease of living for SMEs and common man : PM Modi

New Delhi, December 14: Prime Minister Narendra Modi stressed on the need to improve last mile delivery and focus on streamlining procedures to improve India’s ease of doing business and bankings. Modi made these remarks at the high level meeting that he chaired to review progress of ease of doing business in the national capital on Thursday.
 
 
"Emphasised on the need to focus on last mile delivery, simplifying systems and procedures, which will improve both ‘Ease of Doing Business’ and ‘Ease of Living.’ We are devoting all possible efforts to further improve our 'Ease of Doing Business' rankings.", he tweeted in relation 
 
The Prime Minister also added besides improving the ease of doing business rankings, it would also increase the ease of living for small businesses and the common man. Modi said that as an emerging and vibrant economy, it is extremely important for India to focus on these matters.
 
 
The meet was attended by the senior union ministers related to economic matters, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadanvis, delhi Lt Governor Anil Baijal and senior officials from the sector.
 
He was briefed on the progress being made on various parameters related to ease of doing business. Subjects such as construction permits, enforcement of contracts, registering property, starting a business, getting electricity, getting credit, and resolving insolvency came up for discussion.
 
 
India's rise in the World Bank Doing Business rankings from 142 to 77, over the last four years, was taken note of, the statement said. Officials explained the steps being taken to plug shortcomings and resolve bottlenecks in implementing business reforms.
