Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas unite into a traditional Hindu knot

 

 

Jodhpur, December 3: And finally..! The most awaited international wedding comes over and done. Actress and former Miss World ties a desi knot with the American singer Nick Jonas today. Their wedding celebrations were in tune with the majestic venue -- the royal Umaid Bhawan Palace, situated atop a hill in this 'Blue City' in Rajasthan.

 

 

The duo marry after a three day colourful celebrations constituting Mehendi, Roka (engagement), Haldi, Sangeet and finally the marriage. Both the families were happy to host the wedding in a complete Hindu traditional manner in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.

 

 

"One of the most special things that our relationship has given us is a merging of families who love and respect each others' faiths and cultures. And so planning our wedding with an amalgamation of both was so so amazing”, communicated Chopra on the Instagram. "Nick did a beautiful job following the customs of a Hindu ceremony. It was lovely seeing how they honoured both of their heritages," the insider added.

 

Meanwhile, the bollywood actress and Priyanka’s cousin Parineeti expressed her happiness of being bride’s maid via pictures on the social media. She welcomed Nick to the Chopra family giving him an informal tag of brother-in-law. “The job of us bride’s maid was to make sure the bride was happy and comfortable. But we din’t have to worry about it as Nick promised to do it all his life.”, said Parineeti on the occasion .

 

 

 

 

The couple first began talking in 2016 via Twitter, and met in person for the first time at a party for the Academy Awards in 2017. A successful Bollywood star, Priyanka made a transition to American showbiz as the lead in crime drama "Quantico", eventually landing a role in the "Baywatch" film. Nick and his brothers Kevin and Joe are known for having formed a pop-rock band, The Jonas Brothers, in 2005. The band split up in 2013.

 

This being the fourth big fat Indian wedding, following the celebrity couples getting married this year. Neha Dhupia – Angad Bedi, Sonam Kapoor - Anand Ahuja, Deepika Padukon – Ranveer Singh, Priyanka and Nick mark the fourth celebrity couple getting married in year 2018.
